Saint-Gobain has expanded into an all-new territory, launching its brand of adhesives and sealants for the automotive assembly and repair markets; OneBond.
Extending its portfolio to include products for windscreen replacement, body and mechanical repair, and adhesives for smaller repair jobs, Saint-Gobain is committed to designing safe, efficient, and application-focused tools through its newest brand.
High elasticity is essential for sealing applications in cars and commercial vehicles to provide better stress distribution and noise reduction. OneBond's body repair sealants excel in these applications and deliver outstanding UV resistance for exterior applications. These sealants can even be sanded and painted once cured to protect metal surfaces from corrosion.
Each adhesive from across the range provides a variety of strengths, gap-filling capabilities, and removability options. OneBond's thread lockers and sealants cure on metal surfaces without oxygen thanks to its outstanding chemical resistance; while the glass bonding adhesives are widely versatile and ideal for installing and replacing automotive windscreens, back-lights, quarter glass and other automotive glass, including sun and panoramic roofs, and can even be used to bond other parts of a vehicle body.
For the smaller, smarter repair jobs, OneBond has curated a range specifically for small rigid repairs and assemblies that need high-strength, fast-fixing solutions. Each OneBond adhesive and sealant comes with an anti-clogging nozzle to prevent blockages, even in high humidity conditions, and fixes in seconds at room temperature on a wide range of surfaces.
Dario Marzorati, AAM Channel Manager at Saint-Gobain Abrasives, comments: “Traditional mechanical fastening and joining methods, such as welding, are often expensive and time-consuming, which is why we were keen for OneBond technology to be specially developed to provide an alternative.
“With OneBond, we’re able to improve and speed up our customers' operations, no matter the requirement - bond strength, temperature, environmental resistance, flexibility, fast curing time or a range of viscosities, OneBond has a solution. And this is just the start; our ongoing investment in innovation aims to continually grow the OneBond range and launch new products to make operators' lives easier.”
